Gratitude

As the official holiday season kickoff began with Thanksgiving, I am happy to share with you the things that I am grateful for.  As we enter into this most holiest of holidays, I want us all to approach it with "An Attitude of Gratitude."'  We all have much to be thankful for regardless of the conditions we live with.  The reason I know we all have something to be grateful for is because we are here, ALIVE, BREATHING,  and LIVING LIFE.

I am most grateful for my life.  Everyday so far, I have awoken to begin anew each day.  Forget the day before and whatever dumb thing I or you may have done, we are given another chance each day we awaken and function.  A do over so to speak to get it right!!!

I am most grateful for the life of my son.  Some years ago, I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy, who had the biggest brown eyes and perfect little face, with a smile that melted my heart.  I was actually someone's mother.  How about that!!! He looked at me and I knew that this was the kind of love that can only happen between parent and child.  You don't even know that you have that much love in you and you're capable of caring about another human being so deeply.  Thank you God for letting me experience that kind of love during my life.

I most grateful for my parents.  My parents took the time to raise me with love, understanding, ethics, morals, goals, rules, expectations and consequences.   You didn't just get to do whatever you wanted and get away with it.  You had to answer for your actions, words and behavior.  I was encouraged to be all that I could be and strive to do the best I was capable of doing.  I was rasied to treat others with respect and appreciate the fact that I shared the earth with other people, in other words be considerate.

I am most grateful for my siblings.  There existent has allowed me to be a big sister and an aunt, which I appreciate.  It means that I shouldn't get old alone, they'll be along for the ride.  I see in their faces the reflections of our childhood.  I see in the children us all over again.  I see where we've come from and where we are.  I am proud of their successes and feel the sorrow of their failures.  I know that they will always be my reality check.

I am most grateful for having a purpose each day.  Everyday, I rise and look forward to what the day will bring.  It is sometimes difficult, sometimes wondrous, sometimes frustrating, but always miraculous.  I can't imagine my life without believing that there is always something better waiting to greet me.  Ordinary is the enemy of extraordinary as good is the real enemy of great.  As long as we are okay and comfortable with good and ordinary, we never strive for great and extraordinary.  I have prayed to God and asked him for an extraordinary and dynamic life.  I have no interest in the mundane run of the mill white picket fence life.  I want EXTRAORDINARY!!!!

I am most grateful for being a believer!  I believe the best is yet to come and only after leaving this life will we truly experience the best God has planned for us, so don't give up, never stop believing, just keep moving on!

I am most grateful for being blessed with the ability to see and accept the truth.  The truth hurts and can often be painful, but is necessary for growth and maturity.  I cannot lie to myself and I will not accept ignorance and inappropriate behavior in my sphere of influence.  So to all the people who have been along for the ride, I thank you and appreciate the lessons you were a part of.   MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
