Outrageousness

I was inspired to write this blog in response to the growing despicable scandal surrounding Penn State athletic officials and students.  Upon hearing of the deranged activities taking place in and around this supposed institution of education, I was appalled as most decent human beings should be.  The pattern allowed to grow and fester by Assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky went unchecked and unchallenged for over a decade because everyone chose self-preservation over the welfare and well-being of little boys.  Well I'm suspect of that.  It would seem to me that there is something much deeper and more sinister going on.  Decent and moral people would have reacted and responded immediately to such disturbing events.  It is interesting that during the time of this attack in the shower that was witnessed by a student and that no one thought to call the police and report the attack, not even the student who witnessed it.  Everyone went up the chain of command to report what they saw or were told.  The problem with this explanation is that the reasonable course to follow was all but ignored and that was to call the police and report THE CRIME!!!  Yes it is a crime when a grown man attacks and sexually abuses a child.   I say that students up to the President of the University are all culpable for not taking the appropriate action. 
Why weren't the police called and the attack reported?  Could it be "birds of a feather flock together" going on here?  The only reasonable explanation for allowing this incident to go unreported and to continue to employ such a monster on campus for an additional ten years is possibly that they were all involved in this sadistic, deranged, perverted and evil sin.  Let's be honest, how many of us would knowingly continue to be around a pedophile and not be phased by it at all.  I would be horrified if I found out the person working side by side with me likes to have sex with children.  One of us WOULD HAVE TO GO IMMEDIATELY!!!!
What's with the students of the institution of higher education actually wanting to protest and riot because the coach Joe Paterno was fired for not reporting this and allowing this man to continue to operate in secret and scar more children.  Mr. Paterno had an obligation as a man, parent, educator and supposed man of god to report this incident and to take whatever action necessary to ensure that Mr. Sandusky was exposed for what he is, a child molesting perverted pedophile.  I don't know how he slept at night being a parent and knowing that this monster was out there preying on innocent children.  The students at Penn State should all be ashamed of themselves and go and hide their filthy faces in the sand and beg forgiveness from God and all the children this molester hurt.  What is wrong with a population who is said to be part of the best and brightest of our society rioting and raising a ruckus over a man who allowed a pedophile to operate in his midst and kept it silent?  He claims that in retrospect he should have done more.  You think Joe!!!  Yeah you should have done more, like picked up the telephone and called police.  I'm sure they would have wanted to hear what you had to say.
